When I first started practicing, a colleague shared this video from The World Health Organization on depression and I’ve never been able to find something that explained depression in better or simpler terms.
When I walk through the symptoms of depression with my clients, I can see things click into place for them and they can see more clearly what it is they’ve been living with. I wish things like this video were more prevalent in our everyday culture in order to help people see their lives more clearly and know that it is ok to take action. I am hopeful that we will one day live in a world where we practice preventative measures to help with mental health diagnoses.
